1. Mexican Hat Dance Freeze

Objective: Keep moving to the music, but freeze when it stops!

Setup: Arrange a circle of sombreros on the floor.

How to Play: Participants dance around the circle of hats while Mexican music plays. When the music stops, everyone must freeze in place. Anyone who moves is out. The last person dancing wins.

2. El Reloj (The Clock)

Objective: Move in a circle without breaking the chain.

Setup: No setup required, just a spacious area.

How to Play: Participants hold hands in a circle and move in a clockwise direction while singing a traditional Mexican song. When the song stops, they must reverse direction without breaking the chain. If the chain breaks, the group starts over.

Objective: Be the first to complete a row on your card.

Setup: Print out or buy Lotería cards and a deck of Lotería calling cards.

How to Play: The caller draws a card and calls out the image. Players place a marker on the corresponding image on their card. The first person to complete a row shouts “Lotería!” and wins a prize.

4. Piñata Relay Race

Piñata, candy, blindfolds, sticks/bats (for each team)

Objective: Collect the most candy from the piñata.

Setup: Hang a piñata filled with candy at one end of the play area for each team. Divide participants into teams and line them up at the opposite end of the area. Provide each team with a blindfold and a stick or bat.

How to Play: Split participants into equal teams. Line up the teams at a starting line, opposite the piñata.

The first player from each team is blindfolded, given a stick or bat, and spins around three times. The blindfolded player then runs to the piñata, attempts to hit it once, and runs back to the starting line.

Once the first player returns to the starting line, they pass the blindfold and stick to the next player, who repeats the process. Players continue taking turns until the piñata is broken.

Once the piñata breaks, all team members rush to collect as much candy as they can. The team that collects the most candy wins.
